Psalmody

Psalmody collects no data. There is no account, no sign-in, and no analytics. The app contains no networking code, so nothing you write can be transmitted anywhere, because there is nowhere for it to go.

What the app stores, and where

Everything Psalmody keeps is held on your device only:

Your meditations: what you brought, the verse that stayed with you, what you said to your soul, and what you resolved.
Your answers when a resolution is brought back to you.
Verses you are learning by heart, and their progress.
Your settings: translation, method, commentator, reminder times and resolution intervals.

This is stored in the app's own storage on the device. It is not sent to the developer or to anyone else, and the developer cannot see it.

Notifications

If you turn on a daily reminder, it is scheduled by your own device. No server is involved and no push notification is sent from anywhere. The app asks the operating system for notification permission, which you can revoke at any time in Settings.

Third parties

Psalmody uses no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party analytics. It is not built on any service that profiles users. The open-source components it includes handle local storage, local notifications and the device time zone, and none of them collect or transmit personal information.

Children

Psalmody collects no data from anyone, of any age.

Getting your writing out, and deleting it

Under Sources and settings, Copy everything places your whole journal on the clipboard as plain text, so you can keep it wherever you like. Delete all meditations removes what you have written from the device permanently, and deleting the app removes everything with it. Because nothing is uploaded, there is no copy elsewhere to request or to erase, and nothing to restore from.

Changes to this policy

If the app ever changes in a way that affects this policy, this page will be updated before that version is released.
